# Media Library

### Media Library

The Media Library contains the site's archive of images and other media items. As you build content in your Research AMP site, you will add content to the Media Library.

You can either upload media files to the Media Library directly, or you can do so from the sections for the various content types.

### Alt Text

Alt Text is a substitute for non-text content in websites. It has a number of uses. If an image fails to load, a browser will show the alt text instead of the image. It is also used by screen readers to announce the content of the image, which helps users with disabilities perceive the content.

For more information, see [https://webaim.org/techniques/alttext](https://webaim.org/techniques/alttext/)

It is a good idea for you to develop a practice of creating Alt Text for every image you add to your Research AMP site. Navigate to Dashboard > Media Library to pull up the library of images you have for your site.

Click on an image, and write the alt text.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://research-amp.gitbook.io/research-amp-user-documentation/configuration/media-library.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
